UV CIPP PIPE LINING TECHNOLOGY?

UV CIPP (Ultraviolet Cured-in-Place Pipe) is an advanced trenchless technology used to rehabilitate damaged pipelines, such as sewers and stormwater drains, without the need for extensive excavation. In this method, a UV resin-impregnated glass-reinforced polyester (GRP) liner is inserted into the existing pipe through two access points. Once positioned, a bladder inflated with air ensures the liner fits snugly against the host pipe’s interior. Ultraviolet light is then used to cure the resin, creating a new, highly durable pipe within the old one. Compared to traditional ambient or thermal curing methods, UV CIPP offers faster curing times, reduced costs, lower risks, and superior results, making it an efficient and environmentally friendly solution for repairing cracked, leaking, or broken pipes in residential, commercial, and municipal applications.
How UV CIPP Technology is Transforming Pipeline Repair?
UV CIPP represents an advanced trenchless rehabilitation method that utilizes ultraviolet light to cure resin-saturated liners within existing pipelines. This innovative approach offers distinct advantages over traditional ambient or thermal curing processes, delivering superior results while significantly reducing installation risks, project costs, and resource requirements.
Particularly effective for underground drainage systems including sewers and stormwater networks, UV CIPP technology extends pipeline service life while enhancing hydraulic performance - all with minimal environmental impact. The process is applicable to various pipe geometries (circular, egg-shaped, and similar non-circular profiles) with diameter ranges from DN200 to DN1800mm, making it a versatile solution for municipal infrastructure rehabilitation.
UV CIPP Lining Process

1. Insert Sliding Film
The existing pipe is initially inspected for damage assessment. A sliding film is inserted to facilitate the smooth introduction of the liner, ensuring that the installation process is efficient and effective.

2. Liner Insertion
Following the preparation, the liner is pulled through the pipe from the entry point to the exit point. This method guarantees complete coverage of the damaged section, preventing any exposure of the old pipe.

3. Packers Installation
After the liner is in position, packers are installed at both ends of the pipe. This step is crucial for creating a seal that will allow for proper inflation and curing of the liner.

4. Inflation and Expansion
The packers are inflated to expand the liner, pressing it firmly against the interior walls of the existing pipe. This ensures a tight fit and prepares the liner for the curing process.

5. UV Curing Process
Once the liner is fully expanded, UV light is introduced into the pipe. The UV light activates the resin within the liner, curing it thoroughly and forming a durable, structurally sound lining that conforms precisely to the existing pipe's shape.

6. End Treatment
After the curing process, end treatment is performed to finalize the installation. This may involve trimming the liner to proper lengths and ensuring that all connections are restored.

7. Final CCTV Inspection
A comprehensive CCTV inspection is conducted post-installation to verify the integrity of the liner. This step ensures that the installation meets quality standards and that the pipe is ready for operation.

8. Rehab Completed
With the final inspection approved, the rehabilitated pipeline is now fully restored to optimal performance.
